The American software designers Sean and Ben travel to Moscow to sell their software to investors. However, their Swedish partner Skyler pulls a fast one on Sean and Ben, and they are out of the business. They go to a nightclub, where they meet American Natalie and Australian Anne and they flirt with the girls and see Skyler in the club. Out of the blue, the population is surprised by lights, which they mistake for natural phenomena. But soon, they learn that the lights are aliens invading Earth and using power supply to annihilate mankind. Sean, Ben, Natalie, Anne and Skyler hide in the kitchen and when they leave the place, they seek out survivors on the street. Are they the last people on Earth? In Moscow, five young people lead the charge against an alien race who have attacked Earth via our power supply. I enjoyed this movie so much that I went to see it twice. This is a low budget film and as low budget films go, this is actually a pretty good one, the special effects are very nice and the scenery also.<br/><br/>The film's acting comes across as a bunch of film students first attempt's at making a movie. But I challenge you to find acting anywhere that is better than Joel Kinnaman's in this movie, he gave it his all and was very believable in his role.<br/><br/>I really enjoyed the Moscow scenery, very beautiful city. I also enjoyed to idea that Americans and Russians could work together when challenged to do so.<br/><br/>Go see this movie with low expectations and have fun! I often think that horror/sci-fi films get a rough deal on IMDb. However this is one time that I think the rating is actually too high. This is a formulaic and incredibly dull film. The scenario has been done to death better even through relatively weak films such as Reeker. The special effects are woeful ( though I don't think these ever make a film) the acting is weak, even from Emile Hirsch an actor who is capable of far far better then this drivel. <br/><br/>I lost interest in this film relatively early on and it only scores a four due to some decent cinematography.<br/><br/>Overall a pointless and extremely disappointing film with nothing to recommend it to even the less discerning viewer. This is exactly the sort of film I wasn't expecting from either Gorak or his producers. In many too-obvious ways this is just a formulaic riff on Spielberg's "War of the Worlds."
